Now Comes The Night

Went to see Rob Thomas perform last night at the QE Theatre.

Anna Nalick opened the show. She has some good vocal range in her pop-rock songs. I also found out she's the one who sings that song Breathe, which I've heard several times before but couldn't figure out the singer.

Rob Thomas played a solid set consisting of songs from his solo release and also a few Matchbox Twenty numbers. He was backed by a solid seven piece band that added some good texture to the sound.

If You're Gone and Ever The Same sounded great. 3am had a tag of The Joker by the Steve Miller Band near the end. Streetcorner Symphony featured a really cool extended bass solo. A big highlight was Rob's solo acoustic version of Bent. Wow...that was awesome.

Rob opened the encore by himself with an acoustic rendition of Push. He also played a reworked version of Smooth before finishing off the show with This Is How A Heart Breaks.

Set lasted 1hr 50mins.

Setlist:

Something To Be
Fallin' To Pieces
If You're Gone
When The Heartache Ends
Ever The Same
Not Just A Woman
3am (with The Joker)
The Difference
Bent (solo acoustic)
Problem Girl
Streetcorner Symphony
Let's Dance (Bowie cover)
Lonely No More
I Am An Illusion

Push (solo acoustic)
cover tune
Smooth
This Is How A Heart Breaks

Alright...it's April now. The 12 concerts in March were a lot of fun...and also exhausting. I feel like falling over.....but Metric is tonight and WrestleMania is tomorrow.....so I guess that will have to wait. Maybe Monday?
